GEDCOM is the standard file format for genealogy data. You can export it from Ancestry.com, MyHeritage, FamilySearch, Family Tree Maker and most other genealogy programs. It contains your family's names, dates and relationships, which is everything we need to create your poster.

With a GEDCOM file you can include 3 to 7 generations of ancestors. How many depends on the template and the poster size (A4: 5, A1: up to 7); if you enter your family by hand, you can record up to 7 generations in each direction. Four generations are a good starting point: you, your parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Each additional generation makes the poster more detailed.

There are four sizes: A4 (29.7 × 21 cm, for a desk or shelf), A3 (42 × 29.7 cm, for a smaller wall), A2 (59.4 × 42 cm, our recommendation for a living room) and A1 (84.1 × 59.4 cm, for large walls). Unframed, every size is printed on 250gsm museum paper; framed posters use 200gsm matte paper.

Your data is transmitted encrypted (TLS), stored only on servers in Germany (EU). Uploaded files are deleted automatically 24 hours after upload, print files 48 hours after payment. We pass your family data on only to our print partner, and only what appears on the poster. We process all data in line with the GDPR.

Free shipping is included with every order to Germany, Switzerland, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Delivery from payment, printing included: Germany 3–5 business days; Switzerland 5–8; Australia and New Zealand 7–10. Framed posters within Germany: 4–7 business days, outside Germany: 7–12 business days. To the USA and Canada we currently ship framed A4 posters only. Posters ship in protective tubes, framed posters in sturdy boxes. You receive tracking info by email.

Yes. Every template is available in A4, A3, A2 and A1. You can also add a wooden frame in black, white or natural.

Yes. After ordering, you get a personal share link. Send it to relatives and they can order their own copy in any size, framed or unframed, without uploading a GEDCOM file. This is useful for family reunions and group gifts.
