Troubleshooting
Export option not visible?
The export feature is only available on the desktop website. It is not available in the Ancestry mobile app. Make sure you are using a computer browser and that you are the tree owner or have been granted Manager access.
Export is taking a long time?
Large trees with thousands of people can take several minutes to export. Keep the browser tab open while it runs. If it fails, try again during off-peak hours.
File seems incomplete?
Ancestry exports all people in your tree by default. If your tree appears smaller than expected, make sure you selected the correct tree from the Trees menu. Ancestry does not export photos, DNA data, or record hints in the GEDCOM file.
