You already have a GEDCOM file
Ancestris (free and open source, Java, for Windows, macOS and Linux) stores your genealogy directly as a GEDCOM file, without a database of its own. The .ged file you work on in Ancestris is therefore exactly the file RootsOnPrint needs.
Save and find the file
Save your latest changes with “File › Save”. If you do not know where the file is, search your computer for the name of your genealogy with the extension .ged.
Optional: a copy via File › Save As
If you prefer to upload a copy rather than your working file, choose “File › Save As…”. Ancestris asks whether you want an identical copy or a partial copy; for the poster the identical copy is right. The encoding can be set in the “Options” tab; choose UTF-8. The tabs “Filter by Entities”, “Filter by Properties” and “Filter by View” are only for leaving out data on purpose.
Skip File › Export
The “File › Export” menu is made for genealogy sites (Geneanet, and with extensions GeneWeb and CousinsGenWeb) and adjusts the file for them. RootsOnPrint does not need it: your normal .ged file or the copy from “Save As” is enough.
Upload to RootsOnPrint
Your GEDCOM file is ready. Upload it at RootsOnPrint and design your poster there.

Troubleshooting
Which GEDCOM version does Ancestris write?
Ancestris supports GEDCOM 5.5, 5.5.1 and 7.0, and recent versions can convert a genealogy to 7.0. RootsOnPrint reads all three.
Are living relatives included?
Yes. Saving has no automatic switch for living people, so the file contains everyone. RootsOnPrint leaves out the years of living people by default; you decide in the design step.
The upload rejects the file?
Check that you picked the .ged file and not a backup or ZIP archive. Files larger than 10 MB are rejected; in that case save a partial copy via “Save As” and leave out media and source files.
